چکیده
Through quantitative evaluation of the data and information compiled in the literature review and survey, an explicitly defined list of alternatives and decision criteria to evaluate rehabilitation alternatives was developed for culverts 122 centimeter (48 inch) in diameter or smaller. Relative weights of each criterion were assigned in comparison to the defined alternatives, thereby allowing a dynamic interaction between criteria and alternatives as the decision maker varies preferences. Results were input into a Microsoft Excel workbook. Using a Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) technique, the user-friendly workbook minimizes the cognitive effort of the decision maker. An MCDA workbook allows the user to customize the decision aid model to a situation to select the appropriate culvert-lining method. A simplified graphical representation of the successive decision analysis steps was provided in the form of a user flow chart in the Microsoft Excel workbook. Development of the MCDA was assisted by Dr. Darrell G. Fontane, Professor, CSU.

Neuro-fuzzy Approximation of Multi-criteria Decision-making Qfd Methodology
This chapter demonstrates how a neuro-fuzzy approach could produce outputs of a further-modified multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) quality function deployment (QFD) model within the required error rate. The improved fuzzified MCDM model uses the modified S-curve membership function (MF) as stated in an earlier chapter. The smooth and flexible logistic membership function (MF) finds out fuzz...
متن کاملSensitivity Analysis in the QUALIFLEX and VIKOR Methods
The sensitivity analysis for multi-attribute decision making (MADM) problems is important for two reasons: First, the decision matrix as the source of the results of a decision problem is inaccurate because it sorts the alternatives in each criterion inaccurately. Second, the decision maker may change his opinions in a time period because of changes in the importance of the criteria and in the ...
متن کاملINTUITIONISTIC FUZZY DIMENSIONAL ANALYSIS FOR MULTI-CRITERIA DECISION MAKING
Dimensional analysis, for multi-criteria decision making, is a mathematical method that includes diverse heterogeneous criteria into a single dimensionless index. Dimensional Analysis, in its current definition, presents the drawback to manipulate fuzzy information commonly presented in a multi-criteria decision making problem. To overcome such limitation, we propose two dimensional analysis ba...
متن کاملA Common Weight Multi-criteria Decision analysis-data Envelopment Analysis Approach with Assurance Region for Weight Derivation from Pairwise Comparison Matrices
Deriving weights from a pairwise comparison matrix (PCM) is a subject for which a wide range of methods have ever been presented. This paper proposes a common weight multi criteria decision analysis-data envelopment analysis (MCDA-DEA) approach with assurance region for weight derivation from a PCM. The proposed model has several merits over the competing approaches and removes the drawbacks of...
متن کاملBuilding a maintenance policy through a multi-criterion decision-making model
A major competitive advantage of production and service systems is establishing a proper maintenance policy. Therefore, maintenance managers should make maintenance decisions that best fit their systems. Multi-criterion decision-making methods can take into account a number of aspects associated with the competitiveness factors of a system. This paper presents a multi-criterio...
